Somebody proofread a set of Xero Tax accounts, and it did not go well

An accountant proofread a set of accounts produced in Xero Tax and posted what he found: the wrong directors on the cover page, an inappropriate section 444 disclosure, duplicated wording on finance leases and hire purchase, and limits on disclosing prior year restatements. It landed the same week Xerocon Denver was selling agentic workflows.

Eriona Bajrakurtaj is a straight advocate for AI in accounting and still lands on the obvious point: an assistant that saves you twenty minutes is worth nothing if you then spend twenty minutes checking its output.

John Toon puts the responsibility somewhere less comfortable. Xero Tax double-counted the corporation tax on his own company's accounts, and he blames his own chart of accounts before he blames the software.

From the episode with Eriona Bajrakurtaj, Alastair Barlow and John Toon.
