Fishbowl buys Repfabric: what happens before the order, and after it

Fishbowl has bought Repfabric, and the split between the two products is the whole point.

Fishbowl handles what happens after an order comes in. Inventory, purchasing, manufacturing, fulfilment. Repfabric handles what happens before it. Pipeline, quoting, order tracking and commissions.

John Toon's version of why that gap matters is the clearest one on the episode. You do not want a rep out selling a million widgets when there are a hundred in the warehouse.

Kendrick Hair takes the two questions customers actually ask after an acquisition. Does the brand disappear, and do the connections to competing products get switched off. His answers are no and no. Repfabric has spent a decade on one specific market, manufacturers, distributors and multi-line sales organisations, and the two companies were already integration partners, so the customer overlap is real rather than hoped for.

Not many people are joining these two halves of the process together. Worth watching whether it holds.
