Apron launches QuickBooks Online payments. Embedded or just integrated?

Apron has launched its QuickBooks Online integration. Firms can now settle supplier bills in 30 currencies by open banking, bank transfer or credit card, and pick up Virgin Red points on the side, just as they already could with Xero. It works on the Essentials, Plus and Advanced tiers.

John Toon says it probably brings QuickBooks in the UK closer to Xero on paying bills, without hopping between the ledger and the bank.

Ryan Pearcy's question is the one that matters: is it embedded, the way Crezco is embedded in Xero, or does it sit inside Apron's own platform? John isn't sure from the release. Ryan's gut says integrated, more like Dext's payments, and he notes Apron's yellow is everywhere at conferences now. Indi Tatla expected that big push to stay on cards.
