John Toon has known this was in testing with UK firms for the best part of a year, and reads it as Active going directly at Silverfin at the top end of the market.
His wider argument is that the incumbents in accounts production have held their ground on domain knowledge rather than interface. Knowing what a compliant set of accounts actually requires is harder to replicate than a clean screen, which is why so many challengers stop short of it. FRS 101, IFRS, charities, SORPs and trusts are on Active's roadmap and not in the product yet.
